Privacy

We ask for as little as the sessions require, we use it only to run them, and we share it with nobody.

What we collect

Two forms on this site collect information, and only when you choose to fill one in.

• The RSVP form asks whether you are coming, your first and last name, your email, your phone number, how many people are in your party, whether you will bring a plate to share, any comments you wish to add, and whether you would like news of coming speakers.
• The contact form asks what you would like to do, your name, your email, and your message.
• The suggestion forms on the Reading and Viewing pages ask about the work you are recommending. Your name and email there are optional, and a suggestion sent without them is still welcome.

The phone field on the RSVP form helps us reach you if a session changes at short notice. Leaving it blank costs you nothing.

What we do with it

We use what you send to organise the sessions: to know how many chairs and how much morning tea to prepare, to answer your question, to reach you if a session moves, and, if you asked for it, to tell you when a coming speaker is confirmed.

We never sell, rent, trade, give, or otherwise pass your contact details to any third party. No advertiser, no data broker, no partner organisation, no other community group.

How long we keep it, and how

We keep RSVP and contact records securely, so that the series can plan sessions, recognise returning attenders, and keep the record of a community project that has run for years. Access is limited to the organisers of the series.

If you would rather we did not hold your details, say so and we will remove them. Write through the contact form and choose "Send us another message".

If you asked for news of coming speakers, your name and email stay on that list until you ask to come off it, which you may do at any time.

Tracking, cookies, and advertising

This site runs no advertising, no analytics service, no social media tracking pixels, and no cookies of its own. Nothing follows you from this site to another. Your web host keeps ordinary server logs, as every website's host does.

Pages that embed video from other services, or that link to Google Maps, hand you to those companies' own terms once you press play or follow the link. We have no control over what they collect, and we suggest reading their policies if that concerns you.

Seeing or removing what we hold

You may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write through the contact form and choose "Send us another message". We will act on the request and confirm when it is done.

Who runs this site

Truth-Telling is a community series held at Mitchelton Library, run by its organisers without charge to anyone who attends. It is not a government body or an incorporated company, and it holds no budget for data collection of any kind. This policy describes the practice of the organisers.
